SEN & D
Lanterns Nursery School & Extended Services is a fully accessible centre.
The Nursery School provides an inclusive school environment for 2 – 5 year olds.
Ladybirds, Dragonflies & Butterflies (for children 3-4 years old) : As well as our community places there are 36 resourced places for referred children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Resourced places are offered to children with a wide range of needs including physical difficulties, autism spectrum condition, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and developmental delay, these places may be allocated from the age of 2 years 9 months.
Children starting in Bumblebees (for children aged 2 – 3 years) that have already been identified as having Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND) will be offered a home visit prior to commencement. This gives us an opportunity to meet with the family in their home environment where we will be able to discuss any concerns. We work closely with the family and other professionals to ensure that we are providing the support needed.
We run a number of support groups and also work within in the community delivering the Thomas Outreach Programme (TOP) – please see the separate pages.
If you have any questions regarding our SEN & D facilities and services please contact Sue Herdman, our Inclusion Manager on 01962 860393.
