Bumblebees is our class for 2-3 year olds which runs Monday-Friday, term-time only. We offer a diverse range of play experiences planned to engage 2-3 year olds at this particular stage of their development, and to promote their future progress and learning. Children are eligible to start from the term after their second birthday and can remain in Bumblebees until the end of the term after their third birthday.
Bumblebees is mostly parent funded however we are also able to offer a number of funded places through the Government 2 year old funding scheme for up to 15 hours per week (5 mornings). Please click here to find out if you are eligible for two year funding. You are able to place your child on the waiting list by completing an application form which can be obtained from Reception. We have a maximum of 16 children per session. The administration for Bumblebees is dealt with by Sandrine who can be contacted via email : firstname.lastname@example.org .
PLEASE NOTE : WHEN APPLYING FOR A PLACE IN BUMBLEBEES YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE OPTION TO AUTOMATICALLY GO ONTO THE WAITING LIST FOR A GOVERNMENT FUNDED PLACE WITHIN OUR 3 TO 4 YEAR OLD CLASSES. A place cannot be guaranteed as a progression from Bumblebees, although we do try our very best to ensure continuity for your child.
Activities in Bumblebees
It is our aim at Bumblebees to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for your child to enjoy learning through play. Your child’s happiness and wellbeing is central.
Much of the play during each session at Bumblebees is child initiated - your child can choose, with an adult’s help when needed, from the play experiences offered every day. We also enjoy coming together for some group activities where an adult leads the play or activity such as snack time and singing time.
The play opportunities the children enjoy at Bumblebees cover the six areas of learning set down in the EYFS as a guide to development and progress. The three Prime Areas are :
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
The Four Specific Areas are:
- Understanding the world
- Expressive Arts and Design
