Welcome to the Governors website page.
Sue Barham, Chair of Governors.
There are 12 Governors in a total - a mixture of parents, community members, Local Authority and staff.
The role of the Governing Board is to set the strategic direction of the School through our School Improvement Plan. The Governors also have an overview of the school budget and ensure that due diligence is adhered to through all of our financial systems.
The Governors also ensure that staff are given opportunities through training and support and that every year they have a performance review.
The most rewarding part of our role is to ensure the children are happy and learning. We are given information regularly through the Tapestry system which we discuss at Governor meetings.
As Chair of Governors I meet regularly with the Headteacher to discuss how the School is running and to provide support.
We are often looking to replace our parent governors as parents leave to move on to support their children in Primary School. I can often be found at Lanterns meeting with colleagues or playing with the children so please do come and find me if there is anything you would like to discuss.
The structure of the Governing Body is made up of two committees:
- Finance, Resource & Improvement (FRI)
- Curriculum, Standards & Improvement and Extended Services (CSIES)
